The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

April Fools!

I'm actually not engaged. There isn't a special someone in my life yet, and I'm okay with that.
I'm impressed with how sweet everyone was about the announcements though! You have good hearts. :)

However, I do have some other exciting news that's completely honest: I'm going to serve a mission! I'm a Mormon, and mostly the missions are left to the young men, but if the girls want to serve, they can. I'll go to school this next fall semester and hopefully, if things work out all right, I'll start my mission very early (Like January) of 2012. Then I'll be back in time to catch the new school year in 2013!

Well my boyfriend is always wanting me to play a game with him he knows I hate. I had already told him I had to leave really really soon but he forgot and I took advantage of it. So I told him don't start yet I want to join. So when I got on the game I sent him a message saying "APRIL FOOLS! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR A GAME, CRAZY! BYE!"
